The Bachelor of Science degree in Corporate Communications prepares students with the extensive skills needed in journalism and public relations, writing, desktop publishing, photojournalism and advertising theory. 

You Will Learn 

This degree program will allow students to gain the skills and knowledge that make them highly marketable in their chosen field. This program is designed to enhance students' expertise in diverse areas of communications in the fastest-growing field of business-oriented communications.

Job Outlook

According to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, communications positions with a social media components are expected to rise by 10% between 2016 and 2026. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs for public relations specialists, such as communications directors, are projected to increase by 6% from 2014-2024. Opportunities should be best for college graduates who combine a degree in journalism, social media, public relations, advertising, or another communications-related field with a public relations internship or other related work experience. With the increasing demand for corporate accountability, more emphasis will be placed on improving the image of the client, as well as on building public confidence.

Internship/Capstone Course

As a career-oriented college, and in addition to our hands-on curriculum, Central Penn requires all students to complete an internship or capstone course. This opportunity allows students to participate and experience their future careers in the real world. Internships are 180 hours in length and include a research project tailored to the individual's career path. 

Continuing education and online students may complete a capstone course in place of the traditional internship. This can be done at both the associate and bachelor’s degree level. This course requires an extensive research project and paper related to the student’s chosen career path.
