Graduation Rates - Your Right to Know

Student Right to Know Act April 2009

Central Pennsylvania College provides the following information regarding our graduation/completion and transfer out rates. This information is provided in compliance with the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended. The rates reflect a four year average graduation, completion and transfer out status of students for whom 150% of the normal time-to-completion has elapsed, using Fall 2002 as the current baseline.

During Fall 2002, 243 first-time, full-time degree seeking undergraduate students entered Central Pennsylvania College. As of 6 April 2009, an average of 61% of students over the past four years had graduated from our institution, completed their programs within three years (or six years if baccalaureate seeking) of their initial enrollment date or moved to and finished a baccalaureate program. The graduation rate for the Fall 2002 cohort specifically is 60%.

Institutions are only required to maintain transfer out statistics when its programs are established to prepare students to transfer to other institutions of higher education. Central Pennsylvania College's programs are designed to provide students with a degree, not to transfer to another institution.

While reviewing this information, please bear in mind:
  • Though as a baccalaureate institution we conform to an IPEDS six year reporting cycle, Central Pennsylvania College enrolled its first class of bachelor degree seeking students (a total of 14) in 2001.
  • As reported for the Federal Department of Education, Central Penn's graduation rates are based on a four year average which is automatically calculated by the IPEDS software online.
