The following scholarships are available to all Central Penn students. For more information, please contact the Financial Aid Office at (800) 759-2727.
Central Penn College Education Foundation - Awards Vary
This scholarship is now closed.
The Central Penn College Education Foundation strives to respond to the financial challenges of worthy students who wish to attend Central Penn College by awarding scholarships to those individuals who have demonstrated scholastic achievement and participation in community service or other extracurricular activities. The Foundation believes that investing in the lives of young people is an investment in life itself. Scholarship amounts vary from $100 - $1,000.
To be considered for these scholarships:
- Applicants must possess a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.0
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need
- Applicants must be enrolled at or accepted to Central Penn College
- Applicants must be US residents
- Applicants must be degree seeking

Bailey Foundation - $5000
This scholarship application is now open, the deadline to apply is March 15, 2013.
The Bailey Foundation provides both high school senior and college level scholarships. The application process is usually open two times a year. $5000 is awarded to one student who attends Central Penn as a current student during each application process. The award can be used over 18 months and is for tuition only. Go to http://www.bailey-family.org/ for additional information and application deadlines.
SciTech Scholarship - Variable
The SciTech Scholarship (for Bachelor's degrees) and the Technology Scholarship (for Associate degrees) are both awarded through the NETS Program. To apply for this program, you must be a permanent Pennsylvania resident, maintain a GPA of 3.0 and submit a FAFSA application as well as a separate NETS application. Students in the following Central Penn courses of study are eligible to apply: Associate degrees include Graphic Design, Communications, Computer Info Systems and Multimedia/Internet Production. Information Technology is the only Bachelor degree program. These scholarships are not based on financial need. Recipients of these scholarships must agree to work full-time in Pennsylvania following graduation, one year for each year that a scholarship award is received. A promissory note is required and if the scholarship requirements are not met the scholarship becomes a loan. Click here for additional information.
PATH Grant - Variable
Partners throughout the Commonwealth have joined efforts with PHEAA State Grant to offer qualifying students additional financial aid via educational grants. You must be a State Grant recipient and have a Federal Student Loan. You should demonstrate financial need for a PATH grant. PATH grants cannot exceed the maximum amount for a State Grant for the particular academic year. A participating PATH organization needs to nominate you/submit your name to PHEAA. Contact a participating organization for additional information.
Transfer Scholarship - $1,000
The Transfer Student Scholarship is available to students who transfer at least 30 academic credits from another accredited institution. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $1000 to be used toward their first three terms of tuition. Up to 80 students are awarded the Transfer Student Scholarship.
Recipients are selected on the following criteria:
- Must have transfered 30 academic credits from another accredited institution
- Must have college GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Must enroll as a full-time/degree-seeking student taking day classes
- Must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher
- No application, just verification of the above information
Early Start Scholarship - $2,000
The Early Start Scholarship is available to students who get a head-start on their education by enrolling for Central Penn's Summer academic term. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $2,000 to be used toward their first four terms of tuition. Up to 80 students are awarded the Early Start Scholarship annually.
Recipients are selected on the following criteria:
- Must enroll as a full-time/degree-seeking student taking day classes
- Must be among the first 80 students to send in the $100 registration fee for the Summer 2013 academic term
- Must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA at Central Penn or remaining funds will be forfeited
- No application, just verification of the above information
- Must have continuous enrollment to qualify
- Summer PTA students do not qualify
- Must sign a committment letter agreeing to continually demonstrate the characteristics of a "You Can. You Will." student in order to maintain eligibility if student is accepted on probation.
Academic Scholarship - $1,000/term for your entire education
The Academic Scholarship is available to students who demonstrated academic excellence throughout their four years of high school. Students who receive this scholarship will receive a $1,000 a term for their entire education (6 terms for an associate's degree, 10 terms for a bachelor's degree). Up to five students are awarded the Academic Scholarship annually. While receiving the scholarship, student's must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Recipients are selected on the following criteria:
- Must be a 2013 high school graduate starting either the Summer or Fall 2013academic term
- Must enroll as a full-time/degree-seeking student taking day classes
- Must have a high school cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Must maintain a 3.5 GPA
- College must receive completed 500 word essay application by the following deadlines:
Early bird: January 1, 2013 Final: May 1, 2013
Out of State Scholarship - $750/term for your entire education
The Out of State Student Scholarship is available to students who have graduated from a high school outside the state of Pennsylvania. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $750 a term up to 10 terms. Up to 5 students are awarded the Out-of-State Student Scholarship annually.
Recipients are selected on the following criteria:
- Must be a 2013 high school graduate and enroll at Central Penn for either the Summer or Fall 2013 academic term
- Must enroll as a full-time/degree-seeking student taking day classes
- Must be a resident student to receive and maintain award
- Must have a 2.8 higher high school cumulative GPA
- Must maintain a 2.8 GPA
- College must receive completed 500 word essay application by the following deadlines:
Early bird: January 1, 2013, Final: May 1, 2013
Opportunity Scholarship - $500/term for your entire education
The Opportunity Scholarship is available to students who reside in the state of Pennsylvania. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $500 a term up to 10 terms. Up to 10 students are awarded the Opportunity Scholarship annually.
Recipients are selected on the following criteria:
- Must be a 2013 high school graduate starting either the Summer or Fall 2013 academi1 term
- Must enroll as a full-time/degree-seeking student taking day classes
- Must have a 2.8 or higher high school cumulative GPA
- Must maintain a 2.8 GPA
- College must receive completed 500 word essay application by the following deadlines:
Early bird: January 1, 2013, Final: May 1, 2013
FBLA/DECA Scholarship - $1,000
The FBLA/DECA Scholarship is available to student members of the FBLA club. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $1,000 to be used toward their first three terms of tuition. The FBLA/DECA Scholarship is awarded to all qualifying student applicants.
Recipients are selected on the following criteria:
- Must be a 2013 high school graduate and enroll at Central Penn for either the Summer or Fall 2013 academic term
- Must enroll as a full-time/degree-seeking student taking day classes
- Must be an active member in FBLA/DECA during high school senior year
- Must have FBLA/DECA advisor information on application
- Must have high school GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher
- College must receive completed application by the following deadlines:
Early bird: January 1, 2013, Final: May 1, 2013
Private Scholarship Matching - $1,000
The Private Scholarship Matching Program is available to students who have been awarded an outside scholarship (scholarship funds awarded to a student through an agency or other source outside of Central Penn College to be used toward Central Penn College tuition). Scholarship recipients will be awarded matching funds up to $1,000. Private Scholarship Matching Program funds are awarded to all qualifying student applicants.
Recipients are selected on the following criteria:
- Must be a 2013 high school graduate and enroll at Central Penn for either the Summer or Fall 2013 academic term
- Must enroll as a full time/degree-seeking student taking day classes
- Must submit outside scholarship award letter to Central Penn one week prior to enrollment
Legacy Scholarship - $1,500
The Legacy Scholarship is available to full-time student applicants who are children or grandchildren of a Central Penn graduate. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $1,500 to be used toward their first three terms of tuition. The Legacy Scholarship is awarded to all qualifying student applicants.
Recipients are selected on the following criteria:
- Must be a 2013 high school graduate and enroll at Central Penn for either the Summer or Fall 20123academic term
- Must enroll as a full time/degree-seeking student taking day classes
- Must have a high school GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Must maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA
- Must be a child or grandchild of a Central Penn graduate
- There is no application, just verification of the data above
- College must be notified prior to the start of the enrollment term
*All scholarship funds are limited. Students must be accepted to Central Penn as a first-time freshman and will need to have completed a scholarship application.
McInroy-Sheffer People Trust Scholarship
The McInroy-Sheffer People Trust scholarship has an April 1 deadline and is for students who are incoming freshman for the upcoming school year from Cumberland, Dauphin, Lycoming, Tioga, or York counties, attending Central Penn and studying Business Administration, Corporate Communications, Communications, and Entrepreneurship in Small Business.

Scholarships for Current Students are provided through the Central Penn College Education Foundation. Scholarship applications are accepted during two periods each year:
- January 5 - Fenruary 10, 2013
- July 11 - August 5, 2013
In order to apply for scholarships, all students must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must possess a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.5.
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
- Applicants must be positive role models at Central Penn and in their communities.
- Applicants must be enrolled at or accepted to Central Penn College.
- Applicants must be US residents.
- Applicants must be degree seeking.
If you are selected to receive a scholarship, all information will be verified though academic and financial aid records.
In order to apply for a scholarship issued through the Foundation, simply complete the online application during one of the two application periods. Two scholarships, listed below, have seperate application requirements.

Donald B. & Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation Scholarship (Separate application process)
The Donald B. & Dorothy L. Stabler Scholarship awards multiple student scholarships in amounts ranging from $500 to $2,000.
Special Criteria:
- Applicants must possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Applicants must make a commitment to one day give back to their alma mater through scholarships.
- Applicants must exhibit strong leadership and motivation.

The William & Karen Gladstone Fund (Separate application process)
This scholarship application is now closed.
nd awards one student $4,000 ($1,000 per academic term).
Special Criteria:
- Applicants possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Applicants must be entering final year of coursework at Central Penn
- Applicants must be highly motivated, and have strong oral and written communication skills and a professional demeanor.
To Apply:
- Submit a completed application which includes a minimum 500 word college level essay.
- Submit a letter of recommendation from a Central Penn College faculty member.

HACC GRADUATE Student Scholarship*
The $500 HACC Graduate Student Scholarship is available to new continuing education students who have graduated with an associate's degree from HACC and are transferring to Central Penn to further their education. This scholarship is divided over the first two terms of study at Central Penn. Official HACC transcripts must be provided with scholarship application. LCCC GraDUATE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP*
The $500 LCCC Graduate Student Scholarship is available to new continuing education students who have graduated with an associate's degree from LCCC and are transferring to Central Penn to further their education. This scholarship is divided over the first two terms of study at Central Penn. Official LCCC transcripts must be provided with scholarship application. - Must have graduated with an associate's degree from LCCC and can provide official LCCC transcripts
- Must enroll as a continuing education (part-time, evening, online), degree-seeking student attending Central Penn College for the first time
- LCCC graduate scholarship only available in the first term of enrollment and will not be awarded in conjunction with any other scholarship offering.
TrANSFER SCHOLARSHIP*
The Transfer Student Scholarship is available to students who transfer at least 30 academic credits from another accredited institution. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $1000 to be used toward their first three terms of tuition. Transfer scholarships are limited each term, and awarded on a first come first serve basis. ELIMINATING BOUNDARIES SCHOLARSHIP*
The Eliminating Boundaries Scholarship is designed to assist “You can. You will.” students in having the ability to pursue their educational goals at Central Penn College. Central Penn will award a limited amount of students a scholarship of $500 per term for up to 10 terms of your education while attending Central Penn College. This scholarship will be applied directly to your tuition, and is only available to first time Central Penn students. Recipients are selected on the following criteria:
- Must complete a 200 word essay on “What being a you can, you will student means to you.”
- Must have high school or college GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Must enroll as a full-time/degree seeking student in evening or online classes
- Must maintain a 2.8 GPA or higher while at Central Penn College
- Eliminating Boundaries Scholarship will not be awarded in conjunction with any other scholarship offers

Corporate & Community Partnership AWARD*
The $250 Corporate & Community Partnership Employee Award is available to new continuing education students who are currently employed by one of Central Penn's Corporate Partners. Verification of employment is requested with award application. This grant may be used towards the cost of tuition in the first term. Recipients are selected on the following criteria:
- Must be currently employed by one of Central Penn's Corporate Partners
- Must enroll for the 2012-13 academic year
- Must enroll as a continuing education (part-time, evening, online), degree-seeking student attending Central Penn College for the first time
- Award is not available in conjunction with any other scholarship offers
Military Textbook Award*
The $250 Military Textbook Award is available to new continuing education students who are veterans or currently serving in any branch of service. A copy of your DD-214 may be required. There are a limited amount of awards per term. For further information or with questions, please contact the Continuing Education Office at (800) 759-2727 or continuinged@centralpenn.edu.
Recipients are selected on the following criteria:
- Must be a veteran or currently serving in any branch of service
- Must enroll as a continuing education (part-time, evening, online), degree-seeking student attending Central Penn College for the first time
- Military scholarship only available in the first term of enrollment and will not be awarded in conjunction with any other scholarship offering.
*Please Note: All funds are limited. Scholarships may not be combined and are available to first-time students only. Students qualifying for more than one scholarship or grant will be awarded the highest scholarship or grant only.
