Options for Alternative Credit

Articulation Agreements/Transfer Courses

Students from identified high schools and other accredited two-year and four-year institutions can gain credit so as not to duplicate coursework.
High school students should contact their guidance counselor and their admissions counselor to find out if any of their coursework qualifies for transfer. Students will need a letter from their teacher or guidance counselor recommending their coursework for transfer. A transfer worksheet is available to make this process easier and ensure transfer of high school credit prior to attending Central Penn. Students from other accredited two-year and four-year institutions need to submit official transcripts that will be evaluated for transfer. Some institutions do have transfer worksheets to ease the transition process.

Military Service

Military Service is evaluated using The Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services published by the American Council on Education. Official military records must be sent to the college for evaluation.

CCNA/CCNP Certification

Certified CISCO Network Administrator (CCNA) and Certified CISCO Network Professional (CCNP) certifications may be accepted for credit to applicable programs of study. Students should forward certifications to the Dean’s Office for evaluation.

CLEP Examinations

College Board Examinations (CLEP) transcripts should be forwarded to the Dean’s Office for review. The college recommends the student to review the possibility of transfer with the academic advisor and Dean’s Office prior to taking the examination. DANTES Examinations

Defense Activity for Nontraditional Support (DANTES) Examination Programs may be accepted for credit by the College. Official transcripts should be forwarded to the Dean’s Office for evaluation.
