Continuing Ed Scholarships

The following scholarships are available to Continuing Education students who meet certain requirements. If you have any questions regarding these scholarships, please contact our Continuing Ed Department.

Scholarship Information

HACC Transfer Student Scholarship

$ 750

The HACC Transfer Student Scholarship is available to students with an earned associate degree from HACC who wish to enroll in a bachelor degree program at Central Pennsylvania College. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $750 to be used toward their first three terms of tuition. Up to 30 students are awarded the HACC Transfer Student Scholarship annually.

Recipients are selected on the following criteria:

  • Must be a newly enrolled student starting Fall 07 – Summer 08
  • Must have an earned associate degree from HACC
  • Must enroll as a part-time, evening, degree-seeking student
  • College must receive completed scholarship application prior to the start of enrollment term
  • Must have a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA from HACC

East Pennsboro Resident Adult Learner Grant

$ 250

The East Pennsboro Resident Adult Learner Grant is available to adult residents of East Pennsboro Township who wish to continue their education at Central Pennsylvania College. Scholarship recipients will be awarded a $250 grant to be used toward their first term of tuition. Up to twenty students are awarded the East Pennsboro Township Resident Adult Learners Grant annually.

Recipients are selected on the following criteria:

  • Must be a newly enrolled student starting Fall 07 – Summer 08
  • Must show proof of East Pennsboro Township residency
  • Must enroll as a part-time, evening, degree-seeking student
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED

Business Outreach Partnership Employee Grant

$ 250

The Business Outreach Partnership Employee Grant is available to all employees of participating Business Outreach Partners who wish to continue their education at Central Pennsylvania College. Recipients will be awarded $250 to be used toward their first class. The Business Outreach Partnership Employee Grant is awarded to all qualifying student applicants.

 Recipients are selected on the following criteria:

  • Must be a newly enrolled student starting Fall 07– Summer 08
  • Must be an employee of a participating business outreach partner company/ organization
  • Must show proof of employment at participating company/ organization
  • Must enroll as a part-time, evening, degree-seeking student
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED

Veterans/GI Scholarship

$ 750

The Veterans/GI Scholarship is available to all honorably discharged veterans and active duty members of the armed forces (and reserve components) who wish to continue their education at Central Pennsylvania College. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $750 to be used toward their first three terms of tuition. Up to 25 students are awarded the Veterans/GI Scholarship annually.

Recipients are selected on the following criteria:

  • Must be a newly enrolled student starting Fall 07– Summer 08
  • Must be an honorably discharged veteran or currently serving on active duty or in a reserve status with or without veterans education benefits
  • Must present proof of status prior to enrollment (DD-214 or military ID)
  • Must enroll as a part-time, evening, degree-seeking student
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED

Municipal, State and County Employee Grant
$ 250

The Municipal, State and County Employee Grant is available to all employees of these who wish to continue their education at Central Pennsylvania College. Recipients will be awarded $250 to be used toward their first class. Up to 25 students are awarded the Municipal, State and County Employee Grant annually.

  Recipients are selected on the following criteria:

  • Must be a newly enrolled student starting Fall 07– Summer 08
  • Must be a municipal, state or county employee
  • Must show proof of employment at participating organization
  • Must enroll as a part-time, evening, degree-seeking student
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED

PAPSA Transfer Student Scholarship
$ 500

The PAPSA Transfer Student Scholarship is available to students with an earned associate degree from a PAPSA qualified school who wish to enroll in a bachelor degree program at Central Pennsylvania College. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $500 to be used toward their first two terms of tuition. Up to fifty students are awarded the PAPSA Transfer Student Scholarship annually.

Recipients are selected on the following criteria:

  • Must be a newly enrolled student starting Fall 07– Summer 08
  • Must have an earned associate degree from a PAPSA qualified school:
    • Berks Technical Inst.
    • Bradley Academy
    • Consolidated School of Business (York & Lancaster)
    • DuBois Business College
    • ITT Technical Institute
    • Lehigh Valley College
    • Lincoln Technical Institute
    • McCann School of Business and Technology
    • PACE Institute
    • Pittsburgh Technical Institute
    • Schuylkill Inst. of Business and Technology
    • South Hills School of Business & Technology
    • Thompson Institute
    • Yorktowne Business Institute
    • York Technical Institute
  • Must enroll as a part-time, evening, degree-seeking student
  • College must receive completed scholarship application prior to the start of enrollment term
  • Must have a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA from transferring school

WAGE Program
Varies

WAGE (Workforce Advancement Grant for Education) Program is designed to assist independent students with educational expenses. Students must be a PA resident, classified as an independent for financial aid purposes, not eligible for state grants and have financial need. This program is open to all new continuing education students. Please complete the attached application to apply. Awards will be based on availability of funds and financial need. If you have questions, please contact your admissions counselor.

The above scholarships and grants may not be combined. Students qualifying for more than one scholarship or grant will be awarded the highest scholarship or grant only.

Bucks for Books Credit

$ 100

The Bucks for Books credit is available to new continuing education students to help offset the cost of course books and materials. Recipients will receive $100 to be used toward the purchase of books through eCampus.com for their first academic year. The Bucks for Books Credit is provided to all qualifying student applicants.

Recipients are selected on the following criteria:

  • Must enroll for the Fall 2008 academic term
  • Must have completed the registration process by September 24, 2008
  • Must enroll as a part-time, evening, degree-seeking student

Central Pennsylvania College Education Foundation Awards Vary

Applications for this scholarship are now CLOSED!

The Central Pennsylvania College Education Foundation strives to respond to the financial challenges of worthy students who wish to attend Central Pennsylvania College by awarding scholarships to those individuals who have demonstrated scholastic achievement and participation in community service or other extracurricular activities. The Foundation believes that investing in the lives of young people is an investment in life itself. Scholarship amounts vary from $100 - $1,000.

Criteria:

  • Applicants must possess a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.5.
  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
  • Applicants must be enrolled at or accepted to Central Pennsylvania College.
  • Applicants must be US residents.
  • Applicants must be degree seeking.
  • If selected, information WILL be verified.

Bailey Foundation $ 5000

The Bailey Foundation provides both high school senior and college level scholarships. The application process is usually open two times a year. $5000 is awarded to one student who attends Central Penn as a current student during each application process. The award can be used over 18 months and is for tuition only. Go to www.bailey-family.org for additional information and application deadlines.

SciTech Scholarship Variable

The SciTech Scholarship (for Bachelor degrees) and the Technology Scholarship (for Associate degrees) are both awarded through the NETS Program. To apply for this program, you must be a permanent PA resident, maintain a GPA of 3.0 and submit a FAFSA application as well as a separate NETS application. Students in the following Central Penn courses of study are eligible to apply: Associate degrees include Graphic Design, Communications, Computer Info Systems and Multimedia/Internet Production. Information Technology is the only Bachelor degree program. These scholarships are not based on financial need. Recipients of these scholarships must agree to work full-time in Pennsylvania following graduation, one year for each year that a scholarship award is received. A promissory note is required and if the scholarship requirements are not met the scholarship becomes a loan. Click here for additional information.

PATH Grant Variable

Partners throughout the Commonwealth have joined efforts with PHEAA State Grant to offer qualifying students additional financial aid via educational grants. You must be a State Grant recipient and have a Federal Student Loan. You should demonstrate financial need for a PATH grant. PATH grants cannot exceed the maximum amount for a State Grant for the particular academic year. A participating PATH organization needs to nominate you/submit your name to PHEAA. Contact a participating organization for additional information.
