From the Safety and Security Office
On behalf of the members of the Central Pennsylvania College Safety and Security Department, I would like to extend to you our greetings.
Central Pennsylvania College is concerned about the safety and welfare of all campus community members and guests, and is committed to providing a safe and secure environment. Because no campus is isolated from crime, Central Pennsylvania College has developed procedures to ensure that precautionary measures are taken to protect persons on campus. Although we have been fortunate in not experiencing a significant number of serious crimes, it would not be realistic to state that such incidents do not occur. To reasonably prevent such incidents, a competent and trained Safety and Security Department is present. The department has worked diligently to develop partnerships with campus community members, local police agencies, and the broader Cumberland County community.
Please be assured that we take the issue of campus safety extremely seriously, and that Central Pennsylvania College is determined to continue its efforts to ensure that our campus remain safe. We hope you will find useful, detailed information on campus safety and the services our department offers.
We look forward to getting to know you! As the only department on campus that is staffed around the clock every day, the campus relies on the officers to provide many services. The officers, by virtue of their 24–hour presence, are an essential element of a college that is “up and running” each day of the year. We work very hard at keeping our campus safe, while also continuing to be a very service-oriented department. With the help of the campus community, we have had much success at both. Please do not hesitate to stop in the office or call us at anytime. We are here to assist and protect.
Sincerely,
Chris Rutter
