Tuition & Fees
The simple truth is that there is a big difference between the price of a college education and what students or their parents will actually pay out of pocket. In fact, 86% of Central Penn students receive some form of financial assistance.

Mary is starting school at Central Penn in July 2010 for an Associate's Degree in Accounting and plans to live on campus in an apartment. There are two people in Mary's household. Mary is the only college student. Mary made approximately $2300 in 2009 and her parents earned $37,000 in 2009. After submitting her Free Application for Federal Student Aid, Financial Aid Form, and Federal Stafford Loan (Master Promissory Note), Mary received the following financial aid for three quarters/terms:
Federal PELL Grant - $2,160
PHEAA State Grant - $3,400
FSEOG Grant - $375
Stafford Loan - $5,500
Summer Start Scholarship - $1,500
Total financial aid for three terms $12,935
Using the costs listed above, Mary's final cost is determined as follows:
Tuition (12 credits), housing, board (Opt 1), fee........................ $20,705
Minus financial aid.................................................................. $12,935
Balance Owed for first three quarters/terms............................ $ 7,770
In this case Mary made up the $7,770 difference applying for private loans. Mary has also applied for several scholarships at her high school and at Central Penn.
As you can see, with the help of financial aid, a Central Penn education is affordable! Please do not hesitate to contact the Financial Aid Office via Email or by phone at 1-800-759-2727, Kelly Fox at extension 2246 or Christine Ely at extension 2322 if you have further questions.
