How to Apply for Financial Aid

Think applying for financial aid sounds scary? Well, it doesn’t have to be. Just follow these five simple steps, and you’ll be set! Remember, we’re here if you have any questions.

1. There are three forms that are required to maximize your eligibility for all types of aid:

The Financial Aid Form is mailed back to Central Penn. We encourage you to complete the FAFSA and Federal Stafford Loan electronically.

2. Once we receive these forms, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR), which you should keep and review for accuracy. If Central Penn was listed on your information, we will also receive this electronically.

3. Next, we’ll notify you of any additional forms or information that is needed, such as tax forms, W2s, etc. If no other information is needed, you will receive your award letter.

4. Once you have completed your FAFSA, if you are a Pennsylvania resident, you must complete a PHEAA state grant form online at www.aessuccess.org. This must be completed to determine state grant eligibility.

All students taking summer classes must complete a summer state grant form onine at www.aessuccess.org.

5. Once you receive your financial aid award letter, calculate any remaining balance that may be owed per term.

If there is a balance owed, please review your options.

All new students must complete an entrance counseling session. This can be done online at AES Success.

Please apply early (at least 30 days prior to the date your bill is due) for any additional financial aid, such as a Plus Loan or private/alternative loans.

Don’t forget to apply for scholarships and watch for deadlines!
