Central Pennsylvania College's intercollegiate athletic programs are designed to meet the needs of student athletes that have a desire to compete in their favorite sports, while staying focused on their career-oriented academics at Central Penn.

Central Penn is a college that focuses on a mission to provide an education that prepares its graduates to obtain employment in their chosen field, continue their education, and be contributing members of society. Athletics help students develop the necessary skills to succeed by developing effective people skills, leadership skills, and enhancing a strong moral character, while establishing life-long patterns of involvement in physical and healthy activities. At Central Penn, sports help build a strong collegiate campus life that reinforces a positive public identity for the college.

Central Pennsylvania College has been accepted into the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), beginning with the 2010-11 season of competition for its men’s and women’s basketball teams. For the past eighteen years, Central Penn has been a member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference, competing against local community colleges throughout Eastern PA. 

The USCAA is a national organization that exists to provide quality athletic competition on a regional and national level for smaller institutions of higher learning and their student athletes. It currently has 71 members in 24 states, stretching across the nation from Maine to California The association conducts national championships, names All-Americans and scholar athletes, and promotes USCAA member schools.
