HON400 Honors Studies 3 Credits
The Honors Studies class is an independent study program, which encourages students to
explore aspects of their major beyond the required courses by working on a project approved
by the advising instructor. Working with an advising instructor in their major, students develop
a research topic and plan, carry out that research, and produce a project (thesis, multimedia
presentation, video, etc.) which demonstrates academic excellence. Projects will then be
presented formally to the campus community. It is the student’s responsibility, prior to the
start of the term, to find a faculty advisor and to develop the scope of the individual project,
which may span a term, or more.
