Mission The School of Humanities and Sciences cultivates students’ curiosity and creativity by focusing on active and critical inquiry. Grounded in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences, the School offers a holistic education experience that prepares students to become positive, productive members of their local, national, and international communities. The School provides opportunities for all students to broaden their base of knowledge across multiple disciplines; develop their intellectual and practical skills such as teamwork and problem-solving; cultivate a sense of personal and social responsibility, including ethical reasoning; contextualize their professional studies; and apply their theory-based learning to practical problems.
The School of Humanities and Sciences hosts the College’s general education programming and offers courses in arts, biology, English, geography, history, honors, humanities, immersion studies, interdisciplinary studies, language, mathematics, philosophy, physics, political science, psychology, science, and sociology. The School of Humanities and Sciences also offers a bachelor of science program in Corporate Communications and an associate in science program in communications. 60
