Summer 2020 Term Housing Update and Move Out Instructions

Hello Residents,

I hope this message finds you and your family well. Dr. Fedrizzi-Williams sent out a communication to the campus community today regarding the college’s plan for the Summer 2020 term. As you have read, the Summer term will be conducted online. I know this is not the news you were hoping for but we must do everything we can to keep our students, staff, and faculty safe. Please make sure to continue to check the website www.centralpenn.edu/COVID for the most up-to-date information. The situation with COVID-19 remains fluid and can change at any time.

As of Friday, May 22, Cumberland County will be in the Yellow status. This means we will be able to start scheduling move-outs for students. With the campus going remote for the Summer term, the Department of Student Housing and Residential Life will require all students to schedule a time to remove their belongings. Please follow the step-by-step guide below.

MOVE OUT PROCEDURE

Step 1- Scheduling a time slot.

First, please select the scheduling link that matches your assigned block of suites below. Next, find your suite number and review the available time slots and dates. Finally select your time slot and hit submit.

*Please note you are only permitted one time slot so make sure to confirm that time with your parents, guardians, etc. prior to selecting a slot.

Step 2: Complete the COVID screening form.

This step is mandatory. Make sure to submit the COVID screening form 24 hours but not more than 48 hours prior to your arrival on campus for your scheduled move-out. Here is the link: https://www.centralpenn.edu/screening/. Anne Bizup, MSN, RN, will review this form. Once it has been reviewed, the Director of Student Housing and Residential Life will receive either your denial or approval to arrive on campus.

*If you receive a denial decision, we will be in contact to discuss options for rescheduling your move out time.

Step 3: Guidelines to follow during Move Out

Once a time slot has been selected, your screening form has been reviewed, and you are good to move forward with your move-out a confirmation email along with guidelines will be sent to your student email.

  • All parties must wear masks.
  • All parties must wear gloves.
  • Only two people are permitted in the suite during the move-out time (Student +1). You may bring others with you but they must remain outside of the building.
  • All vehicles will be parked on the street.

Step 4: Checkout process.

When you arrive in your room, there will be a checkout sheet, envelope for your keys, and any mail that you have accrued on campus. You may keep your student ID and parking permit if you are remaining a CPC student or planning to return for the Fall term. If you are not, then you must turn these items in with your keys.

*Note: as per the student handbook any keys not turned in will result in a key charge and a core changing charge.

We will miss all of you on campus and cannot wait to see everyone back in the Fall term. We will be sending out updated leases for the 2020-2021 year along with updated medical form requests via DocuSign. So please make sure to complete these when they arrive to your student email inbox.

If you have questions, concerns, or need to discuss a specific circumstance, please contact the Director of Student Housing and Residential Life- Lindsay Garber at lindsaygarber@cenralpenn.edu.Take care and Stay safe!
