Central Penn College launches “Make an Impact” campaign to raise funds for COVID-related initiatives

Central Penn College has launched three fundraising initiatives––with a goal of generating a combined $20,000 in donations––to address impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the college’s students:

  • COVID-19 Relief Fund ($10,000) – to help students who continue to be impacted by the pandemic. At the same time, making preparations to reopen campus and conduct classes and student life under the “new normal.”
  • Health Sciences Equipment Fund ($5,000) – to purchase needed medical supplies as well as more up-to-date medical training equipment, so our students are prepared to enter the front lines of the COVID-19 fight, if needed.
  • Combat Hunger Campaign Fund ($5,000) – to raise money, time and resources to help those facing food insecurity now and into the fall.

The Office of Advancement and Strategic Initiatives is spearheading these campaigns. “During this unprecedented time, we know that many Central Penn students are struggling with additional expenses or trying to navigate this challenging new world,” said President Dr. Linda Fedrizzi-Williams. “Every dollar we raise will have a tangible impact in the lives of our students.”

The college plans to reach out to its alumni, faculty, staff and the wider community to support these initiatives. “With the loss of summer jobs and part-time work, college-age students have been one of the groups hardest hit by the pandemic. We know this is a challenging time for many donors, but the need has never been greater,” said Michael Fedor, Vice President of Advancement and Strategic Initiatives.

Phase 1 of the campaigns––with a combined goal of $20,000––will run concurrently through the end of June. Phase 2 will continue through the summer and fall. For those interested in donating to one or more initiatives, visit: impact.centralpenn.edu.
