Central Penn College’s Schedule After Thanksgiving

Dear Students,

Thank you for following our safety protocols and procedures. You’ve helped us safely return to in-person classes during the fall term.

As we head toward November and the end of this term, I have a few updates to share regarding our schedule after the Thanksgiving break.

Remote Instruction

To ensure everyone’s safety, we will move to remote instruction––with the exception of some Health Science classes––for the 14 days following Thanksgiving break.

Why are we doing this?

Seeing family and friends over the holidays will potentially increase exposure to the coronavirus for students, faculty and staff.

The safety and well-being of the campus community is our top priority.

Out of an overabundance of caution, nearly all classes will be conducted virtually for two weeks from Tuesday, Dec. 1 to Friday, Dec. 11. The only exception is some Health Science classes, which will be conducted in-person.

Classes will be held at their regular times in a synchronous format.

Residential Students

Residential students traveling to/from at-risk states, once returning, will self-isolate and take virtual classes during this two-week period.

Week 11

For the last week of term, Week 11, we will return to in-person classes.

Thanksgiving in Summerdale

Over the Thanksgiving break, we do expect a few residential students to remain on campus. We are making arrangements with CulinArt to have meals available, and we will provide programming for them during the long holiday weekend.

Winter Term

For the first two weeks of Winter Term, all classes will be conducted virtually. All residential students traveling from at risk states will self-isolate for two weeks.

After that two-week period, we will return to our regular mix of in-person, online and hybrid classes.

Final Thoughts

In the face of a global pandemic, we must continue to be flexible, so as to ensure the safety of the entire campus community.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Dr. Fedrizzi-Williams
