COVID Updated Guidelines – April 6, 2021

Campus presence

By July 5, 2021, all faculty and staff are expected to return to our pre-March 2020 campus presence while still observing any CDC guidelines regarding masking, social distancing, handwashing and symptom monitoring.

Our expanded and flexible block course schedule with MWF, TR classes and TR Common Hour begins July 5. To ensure we begin this new instructional schedule, employees should plan to be back to regular, on-campus schedules by July 5. Now is the right time to start researching your childcare options to ensure every single Central Penn College employee can be back to campus to serve our students by July 5.

Full face-to-face instruction will continue for spring and summer terms. Modifications will be reduced by summer term 2021.

  • Spring term will continue to utilize hi-flex options for courses, social distancing, masking, reduced classroom capacities and online learning options.
  • If faculty are fully vaccinated, and two weeks has passed since their second vaccine if receiving Pfizer or Moderna, they may unmask while teaching.
  • Students, faculty and staff will continue to use the daily screening form via the CPC app until further notice.
  • All CPC students, faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to seek out a COVID-19 vaccine when it is their turn to receive it.
  • Starting with the summer term (beginning July 5), classroom social distancing will be reduced to three feet and masks will be required by students in classrooms if that continues to be CDC guidance. If students are more than six feet apart, masks may be removed.
  • Increased classroom capacities will only remain in effect when Cumberland or Lancaster County is at a rate of low to moderate COVID-19 spread. If substantial or high rates of spread return, hi-flex, online courses, or reduced classroom capacities will return.

Food services – Knight and Day Café

  • Café is being opened-up with spring term for serving line and eating in Café area for all students, faculty and staff.
  • Conference Center being opened-up in spring term for smaller capacity internal and external events (50 or less).
