Short-Term Healthcare Management Certificate launched by Central Penn

“Healthcare organizations need managers and supervisors, and the Healthcare Management Certificate (HMC) positions individuals for success in this burgeoning field,” said Anne Bizup, Dean, School of Health Sciences. Healthcare manager jobs are expected to increase 32% through 2029, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

“Many frontline healthcare workers are looking to move into a management or supervisory position, and this fully online program––which students can complete in just nine months––provides them with the knowledge and skills to make the leap to the next level,” said Bizup, who joined the faculty at Central Penn College in 2013.

To be considered for this post-baccalaureate certificate program, students must already possess a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related program. All credits earned in the HMC will transfer into the college’s Master’s of Professional Studies program, which has a healthcare management track.

“The healthcare workforce is one of the most highly educated in the country, yet many lack managerial expertise and experience,” says Bizup. “For healthcare employees looking to advance in their careers, this program has been designed specifically for you.”

Accelerated Schedule, Flexible Program

The Healthcare Management Certificate is conducted over three terms, with students taking two online courses a term. Central Penn College operates on an accelerated schedule of quarterly, year-round terms. No other college or university in the capital region uses such a schedule.

“Today’s busy adult learners require flexibility, and this online program enables students to successfully balance their education and their other responsibilities,” said Bizup.

The Healthcare Management Certificate is currently enrolling students for the fall term, which begins Oct. 4. To apply or learn more, go to: www.centralpenn.edu/hmc.
