The Central Penn College baseball team will vie for the Eastern States Athletic Conference (ESAC) championship against rival Bucks County Community College.

The 16–11 Central Penn Knights will visit the 26–19 Bucks County Centurions on Friday, May 6, for a doubleheader, with the first game starting at 1 p.m. The second game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.

The two teams are competing in a best-two-of-three championship series. If a third game is needed, the two teams will play on Saturday at noon.

This is the first championship for the newly formed conference, which was formally approved by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) last December.

“We are excited for our student-athletes to take part in this historic moment for athletics at Central Penn College,” said Dr. Linda Fedrizzi-Williams, president of the Summerdale-based institution.

A Tough Opponent

During the regular season, Central Penn was 0–4 against Bucks County. “The Centurions are a very good team,” said Knights Head Coach Robert Stern. “We know we’ll have to play our best ball of the season to earn this championship.”

As a team, the Knights are batting .280 and averaging 6 runs a game. They are led by outfielder Shais Roman who is batting .338 with 24 RBI; catcher Steven Armstrong who is hitting .276 with 21 RBI and 3 homeruns; and infielder Zach Boyer who has a .298 average, with 6 doubles and 19 RBI.
