Central Penn College’s Summerdale campus is located in the heart of Enola, Pennsylvania, just minutes from downtown Harrisburg, the state capital.
Central Penn’s beautiful residential campus offers students a safe and attractive option – the complete small college experience – with the added advantage of being a short drive from central Pennsylvania’s business, healthcare, governmental and cultural hubs. This access allows for social and entertainment activities as well as internship and career opportunities.
The campus is comprised of various academic buildings, the Charles “T” Jones Leadership Library, student super suites, apartment buildings, the Health Sciences Building, the Surgical Technology Education Center, the Underground Student Union, and the ATEC building.

Directions to Central Penn College’s Campus
From the East – Take I-76 West (PA Turnpike) get off at Exit 247 (Harrisburg East). Take center lane to I-83 North toward Hazleton/Lewistown. Follow signs to I-81. Take I-81 South toward Carlisle. Take Exit 65 (Enola) onto Routes 11/15 South (Enola). From Routes 11/15 travel one half mile and turn right at the traffic light onto Valley Road. Travel a half mile. Central Penn is on the left.
OR… Take I-78 West. This road will merge with I-81 South. Stay on I-81 South and take Exit 65 (Enola). Travel about one half mile and turn right at the traffic light onto Valley Road. Travel a half mile. Central Penn is on the left.
From the West – Take I-76 East (PA Turnpike) to Exit 226 (Carlisle). Go north on I-81 to Exit 65 (Enola) onto Routes 11/15 South. Go one half mile and turn right at the traffic light onto Valley Road. Travel a half mile. Central Penn is on the left.
From the South – Take I-83 North to Rt. 581 West (Exit 41A). Follow Rt. 581 West to I-81 North (Exit 1A). Take I-81 to Exit 65 (Enola) to Routes 11/15 South. Go one half mile and turn right at the traffic light onto Valley Road. Travel a half mile. Central Penn is on the left.

Central Penn College understands that our picturesque campus provides an ideal backdrop for weddings, prom, and graduation photos. The college welcomes community members to visit our campus for photo opportunities but does require that a request be submitted to the college’s Public Safety Department for approval in advance of the visit.

Temporary Traffic Restrictions Near Central Penn College
Beginning Monday, July 20, PennDOT will begin a major traffic shift near Central Penn College as construction continues along Route 11/15 and Interstate 81.
The work will affect the I-81 Exit 65 interchange and Route 11/15 near Valley Road. Several interchange ramps will be detoured, travel lanes will be narrower and drivers may experience slower traffic for up to 90 days.
Central Penn College will remain accessible throughout the project. However, students, employees, visitors and event guests are encouraged to avoid Exit 65 and use one of the following recommended routes.
Maroon Route: Traveling on I-81 North
Take Exit 61 for Wertzville Road.
- Turn right onto Route 944/Wertzville Road.
- Continue to the traffic light at Valley Road.
- Turn left onto Valley Road.
- Continue on Valley Road to Central Penn College.
This route approaches campus from the west and avoids the construction near Exit 65.
Orange Route: Traveling on I-81 South
Take Exit 66 for Front Street.
- Continue south on Front Street.
- Turn right onto the Forster Street Bridge.
- After crossing the bridge, turn right onto North Front Street/Route 11/15.
- Turn left onto College Hill Road.
- Turn right onto B Street to reach Central Penn College.
This route approaches campus from the south and avoids the Exit 65 interchange.
What Drivers Should Expect
Drivers using Route 11/15 or the Exit 65 interchange may encounter ramp detours, narrower lanes, lane shifts, concrete barriers, slower traffic and temporary restrictions on left turns.
At least one lane will remain open on Route 11/15 and I-81 during construction, but delays are still possible, especially during busy travel times.
Please allow extra time, use caution in the work zone and follow all posted traffic and detour signs. GPS directions may not immediately reflect temporary road restrictions, so visitors are encouraged to follow Central Penn College’s Maroon Route or Orange Route when traveling to campus.
