Chris Kapp, CSFA/CST

I believe that students learn best through hands-on experiences as well as creating a nurturing and supportive classroom where the student feels valued and can learn and grow mentally, emotionally and socially. I use short surveys during each weeks assignments to continually gain student feedback with the expectation that i am creating a culture where students feel safe to speak out to improve the quality of the learning I provide.

Professor Kapp is the Director of the Surgical Technology program at Central Penn College. He earned his diploma in Surgical Assisting at Meridian Institute of Surgical Assisting in Nashville TN in February of 2021. Professor Kapp is a military trained Certified Surgical Technologist with 38 years of experience and teaches all courses within the Surgical Technology program. He is actively involved in the Pennsylvania Association of Surgical Technologists (PA AST) serving on the Board of Directors, past Vice-President, and currently serving as President. He was named preceptor of the year at the UPMC West Shore campus. When not teaching at Central Penn College, he is an avid golfer and spends most weekends camping at his permanent site campground in Snyder county.
