Make a Dental Assistant Smile This Week

As one of the emerging leaders in dental education in Pennsylvania, Central Penn College encourages everyone to salute their favorite dental assistant as Dental Assisting Week is celebrated from March 1 to 8.
At a time when many families across Pennsylvania are experiencing longer wait times for routine dental care, and in some cases, difficulty finding timely emergency treatment., we are fortunate to be responding to a growing shortage of dental professionals in an effort to improve access to essential oral health services in communities across our state.
Central Penn College in Cumberland County, PA is now working with local dentists and recently added a Scranton Clinical instructional site to our Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) program. Approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry, this six-month program prepares dental assistants to take on expanded clinical responsibilities that increase efficiency in dental practices and improve patient access to care.
The EFDA program blends academic theory with hands-on application that was designed with working professionals in mind. The program is delivered primarily online so students can continue working while advancing their career with hands-on clinical labs offered during convenient weekend sessions.
For more information on our Enola and new Scranton instruction site, Central Penn College’s dental programs, and scholarships, you are invited to visit CentralPenn.edu/Scholarships or email admissions@centralpenn.edu.
And make sure these newly trained and much-needed dental professionals know they are appreciated.
Thanks to them, Pennsylvanians will have added opportunities to receive the timely, high-quality care they deserve.
Signed,
Ann Hoffman RDH, PHDHP
