Central Penn College Partners with Local Business to Prepare Students for Career Success

At Central Penn College, career-focused education goes beyond textbooks, lectures, and exams. Preparing students for success in today’s workforce means teaching more than what happens in the classroom. It means helping students develop the real-world skills they need to thrive as professionals.
That is why Central Penn College is always working to build meaningful partnerships with local businesses that share our commitment to student success. These partnerships create opportunities, provide resources, and help students gain the confidence and professionalism needed to step into the real-world business environment.
A recent donation from local wealth management firm LeTort Trust is just one example of how Central Penn College and community partners are working together to prepare students for life after college.
Local Business Partnership Supports Career Readiness at Central Penn College
LeTort Trust, a Mechanicsburg-based wealth management firm, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year by completing 25 acts of service and community outreach throughout the year.
After learning about the Career Closet at Central Penn College, a LeTort Trust team member shared the initiative with colleagues, sparking excitement and interest across the organization. The team selected the Career Closet as one of its 25 acts of service because they recognized it as one of the many ways Central Penn College helps students start both their college journey and their careers on the right foot.
Recently, LeTort Trust team members visited campus and donated 120 professional clothing items to the Career Closet.
The donation included:
- 60 men’s items, including polos, dress shirts, pants, suits, ties, and coats
- 60 women’s items, including blouses, sweaters, skirts, pants, dresses, blazers, shoes, a bag, and a wallet
LeTort Trust also made donations to Dress for Success of South-Central PA as part of its service initiative.
Career-Focused Education Means Teaching More Than Academics
At Central Penn College, students receive a career-focused education designed to prepare them for in-demand careers. But technical knowledge is only part of the equation.
Success in the workplace also requires professionalism, confidence, communication skills, and what many students jokingly call “adulting” skills.
That means knowing how to:
- Dress professionally for interviews and internships
- Make a strong first impression
- Navigate workplace expectations
- Build confidence in professional settings
- Present yourself as someone employers want to hire
These skills can make a major difference when students enter the workforce.
That is why resources like the Career Closet at Central Penn College are so important. The Career Closet gives students access to professional attire for interviews, internships, networking opportunities, presentations, and job fairs, helping remove barriers and build confidence as they prepare to launch their careers.
It is just one extension of how Central Penn College supports students beyond academics.
