Central Penn College taps Reid to Take Over Women’s Basketball Program

Women's Basketball Coach

Central Penn College has announced the hiring of Coach Arnell Reid as the new head coach of the women’s basketball program. Entering his first season as a college head coach, Reid brings years of coaching experience, leadership, and a strong passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the court.

A 2005 graduate of Harrisburg High School, Reid earned his bachelor’s degree in Professional Communications from Penn State University in 2005 and recently completed his master’s degree from the University of Phoenix in 2025. His educational background and coaching experience have helped shape his ability to connect with players, families, and the community.

Before joining Central Penn College, Reid spent eight years coaching AAU basketball with the TCBA Wolfpack while also coaching at Milton Hershey School and Cedar Cliff Middle School. Throughout his coaching career, he has built successful teams and championship-winning programs while emphasizing character, discipline, confidence, and player development.

Reid is also known for his commitment to servant leadership and building meaningful relationships with his players. A devoted husband and father of two, he remains active in the Central Pennsylvania community and continues to support local youth and families through mentorship and coaching.

His philosophy centers around creating a “WE over ME” mentality that builds a culture capable of sustaining long-term success. Reid believes his vision for the program extends beyond wins and losses and focuses on developing leaders, building strong bonds, and leaving a lasting impact on his players.

“Lead with faith, lead with love, and lead with passion,” Reid said. “Let’s Rebuild the Castle.”
