Central Penn College Women’s Volleyball Heads to ESAC Championship in First Season Back

After years away from competition, the Lady Knights are back on the court, building a program and playing for a conference championship.
Talk about making a comeback!
After a lengthy break from competition, Central Penn College women’s volleyball returned to the court this fall with a fresh roster, a new beginning and a lot to prove.
Now, just two months into their first season back, the Lady Knights are heading to the Eastern States Athletic Conference (ESAC) Championship Game.
Central Penn College will take on Christendom College on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 6 p.m. at Christendom College. And while the team would love nothing more than to bring home a conference championship, the fact that they’re playing for one in their first season back is already something worth celebrating.
For a program that’s just getting started again, that’s a pretty big deal.
Bringing Women’s Volleyball Back to Central Penn College
When Central Penn College announced the return of women’s volleyball, the goal was about more than putting a team on the court. It was about creating another opportunity for student-athletes to compete, earn a college degree and be part of something special.
The Lady Knights hadn’t competed in an official season for several years. That changed in August 2026, when Central Penn women’s volleyball returned to competition and began writing a new chapter in the College’s athletics history.
The milestones started coming almost immediately.
On August 29, the Lady Knights earned their first victory in a decade, giving the newly relaunched program something to celebrate right out of the gate.
Less than two weeks later, on September 9, Central Penn hosted its first women’s volleyball home game in 11 years.
And they made sure it was one to remember.
The Lady Knights swept ESAC opponent Manor College in three sets, winning 25-7, 25-5 and 25-22. The game also served as a Gold Out event supporting Childhood Cancer Awareness, bringing together volleyball, school spirit and a cause that matters.
Not a bad way to welcome college women’s volleyball back to Central Penn.
Big Wins, Big Moments and a Growing Knights Nation
As the season progressed, the Lady Knights continued finding ways to compete and make their mark.
On September 26, Central Penn earned another conference victory against Manor College, sweeping the Blue Jays in three sets.
Austynn Wolf led the way with 11 kills and no attack errors on 12 attempts, while Andie Bevenour helped run the offense with 22 assists and five service aces.
But one of the season’s biggest moments came on October 13, when Central Penn College volleyball hosted Penn State Lehigh Valley for its annual Pink Out game.
More than 100 fans packed the gym, setting a new attendance record for Central Penn women’s volleyball.
And the Lady Knights gave them plenty to cheer about.
Central Penn swept Penn State Lehigh Valley in straight sets, 25-22, 25-17 and 25-19, delivering another memorable victory in front of a crowd filled with students, friends, family and fellow Knights student-athletes.
The match was also about something bigger than volleyball. The team partnered with Pink Hands of Hope, a Mechanicsburg nonprofit that supports women affected by cancer, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Members of the Central Penn baseball team, four-time ESAC champions themselves, showed up in force to support the Lady Knights.
It was exactly the kind of atmosphere that makes college athletics special.
And for a women’s volleyball program working to establish itself, those moments mean a lot.
From a Relaunched Program to a Conference Championship Game
Building a college women’s volleyball program takes time.
It takes recruiting, teamwork, dedication and a group of student-athletes willing to help build something from the beginning.
The Lady Knights have embraced that challenge.
Their first season has brought plenty of learning experiences, competitive matches and opportunities to grow together. And through it all, the team has worked to establish a foundation that future Central Penn volleyball players can build upon.
Now, that hard work has led to a spot in the ESAC Championship Game.
On October 29, Central Penn will travel to Christendom College with a chance to compete for a conference title in its first season back.
Win or lose, it’s already been a memorable return for women’s volleyball at Central Penn College.
But you can bet the Lady Knights aren’t heading into the championship just to celebrate getting there.
They’re going to compete.
