Teaching Philosophy
Surgical Technology is a hands-on job so I believe in getting students involved beyond the books! Operating room labs, projects, games and presentations can help students to become more comfortable with the field that they are preparing to enter. I want to see every student succeed, so I will devote my time to help them with their education and career choice.
Bio
I have been a certified surgical technologist for 10+ years. I have worked in various hospitals, including being a traveling surgical technologist, prepared to work wherever needed. I believe this gave me the skills to be able to adapt to any situation in any facility. I have participated in most specialties, to include Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Neurology, Orthopedic, Colorectal, Surgical oncology Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic, Kidney Transplant, Gynecology, Plastics, Ear Nose Throat, Neonatal, Pediatrics, Urology, Trauma, Robotics, Minimally Invasive Bariatrics and General. I currently work in the Operating Room part-time, along with being a full-time instructor here at Central Penn College.
