Central Penn College Launches Two Innovative Legal Studies Initiatives

Central Penn College is pleased to announce two new academic programs designed to provide students and professionals with essential legal knowledge and practical skills: a Legal Studies Certificate and a Legal Studies Minor. These initiatives underscore the college’s commitment to offering relevant, career-focused education that addresses the growing need for legal understanding across diverse industries.
In today’s intricate landscape of regulations, contracts, and legal frameworks, a foundational understanding of the law is increasingly vital for success in nearly every field. Central Penn College’s new programs are tailored to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to navigate these complexities effectively and ethically.
Legal Studies Certificate: Foundations in Law
The 18-credit Legal Studies Certificate offers a concise introduction to the U.S. legal system. Comprising six courses, the program focuses on core legal competencies, including exploring legal fundamentals, conducting legal research and analysis, and applying legal principles to real-world situations. It’s designed for individuals seeking to quickly gain foundational legal knowledge to enhance their current career or pursue new opportunities in legal-related roles.
Legal Studies Minor: Legal Insight for Future Leaders
The 18-credit Legal Studies Minor (six courses) can be seamlessly integrated into Bachelor’s degree programs like Business Administration, Criminal Justice, and Organizational Leadership. This minor provides future leaders with foundational legal knowledge and analytical skills. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the U.S. legal system, develop vital research skills, and explore fundamental areas like business and criminal law, with elective options for specialized topics. The minor adds significant value, preparing graduates to operate effectively within legal boundaries across various sectors.
Both programs emphasize developing the ability to view challenges through a legal lens, conduct thorough research, and understand core legal doctrines.
“We are thrilled to launch these two new Legal Studies initiatives,” says Dr. Linda Fedrizzi-Williams, President of Central Penn College. “In today’s increasingly regulated world, a solid understanding of the law is an invaluable asset. These programs will provide our students with the essential knowledge and skills to succeed in a wide range of careers and become ethical, informed leaders.”
