Central Penn’s Raise the Roof Campaign to Make Final Round of Deliveries

Central Penn College will begin delivering this week more 2,700 items collected as part of the Raise the Roof campaign to combat homelessness in the capital region. The college made its first round of deliveries of more than 3,000 items back in August.

The six-month campaign, which began in June, concluded this month. So far, the campaign has raised more $7,600 and collected more than 5,700 items. In addition, Central Penn students and employees contributed more than 300 volunteer hours to local nonprofit causes.

“We are so grateful for the response by the Central Penn College community,” said President Linda Fedrizzi-Williams. “Housing insecurity and homelessness affect too many people in the capital region, and we are glad this campaign will be able to help so many people in need.”

“Central Penn College is grateful for the support of our sponsors––Lanco Federal Credit Union, Mid Penn Bank, New Cumberland Federal Credit Union and West Shore Young Professionals––for their contributions to the Raise the Roof campaign,” said Fedrizzi-Williams.

The college partnered with seven nonprofit organizations––that address homelessness and housing insecurity––in seven different counties in the central Pennsylvania region.

Director of College Relations Curtis Voelker will begin making the rounds on Tuesday, Dec. 14, with the first drop-off scheduled for 10 a.m. at South Central Community Action Programs in Gettysburg.
