Devon and Al-jeva Dorsey – Founders of Little Legends Day Care
Devon Dorsey, a 2015 graduate of Central Penn College with a degree in Criminal Justice, and his wife, Al-jeva, an alumna as well, have recently embarked on an exciting entrepreneurial journey by opening Little Legends Day Care in Harrisburg. Their story is one of determination, community impact, and the lasting influence of their Central Penn education.
Located on Chambers Hill Road in Harrisburg, Little Legends Day Care is a child development center that provides a nurturing environment for young children. The center is a testament to Devon and Al-jeva’s commitment to early childhood education and care. It employs three graduates from Central Penn College, highlighting the college’s role in shaping the careers of its students and their continued success in various fields. Additionally, a retired English teacher rounds out the team, bringing a wealth of experience to the center.
Devon’s journey to opening Little Legends Day Care is rooted in his experience in juvenile justice, along with his passion for positively impacting the lives of young people. His diverse career path also includes a memorable stint playing basketball in Spain, which speaks to his dedication and drive to succeed in any field he enters.
Al-jeva, who has five years of experience working in daycare, complements Devon’s vision with her expertise in child development and care. Together, they are creating a lasting legacy in their community, providing quality care and education to children in the Harrisburg area.
Their personal journey began during their time at Central Penn College, where they welcomed their son, Legend, 10 years ago. It was during these formative years as students that their shared dream of opening a daycare began to take shape. Today, that dream is a reality, and Little Legends Day Care stands as a beacon of the couple’s dedication to making a positive impact in their community.
