Spring term classes to begin online
For the first two weeks of the spring term, Central Penn College has decided to conduct all classes online. During this period, which begins on Monday, April 6, and extends to Saturday, April 18, the campus also will remain closed.
We are taking these measures to ensure the safety of the entire campus community.
After that two-week period, we are planning to reopen the campus on Sunday, April 19. This will be the date that new residential students can move in and current residential students can return to their apartments and super-suites. We are looking forward to seeing you on campus!
On Monday, April 20, on-ground classes will begin at the Summerdale campus and Lancaster Center.
As you know, the situation regarding COVID-19 remains fluid. Please check Central Penn’s info page on the coronavirus for regular updates.
A word about online classes
Central Penn College has been offering online classes since 2004. We were one of the first colleges in this area to adapt to this method of instruction. In fact, 70% of our students take at least one online class every term.
Online instruction is something we have been doing for more than 15 years. It’s something we know… it’s something we’re good at… and it’s something we will continue to do.
Please make sure you reach out to your faculty members with any questions or concerns you have during this time. Our faculty are extraordinary and will be your guide and support not only while we are remote, but also for your entire academic journey. Ask for help when you need it!
Stay connected
During this time of social distancing, I encourage you to stay connected with family and friends. Pick up the phone and call a loved one. Text or message a friend you haven’t seen in a while. At home, hang out with your little brother or sister who usually gets on your nerves.
These little acts of kindness matter a great deal.
Remember, we’re Central Penn. We’re tough. We’re resilient. And we will get through this.
