Emotional Health Care Pinning Ceremony at Central Penn College
A Night of Honor, Achievement, and Inspiration
More than 130 future healthcare professionals stood together Tuesday night inside Central Penn College’s Conference Center, reciting the Health Care Occupation Creed in unison before proudly receiving the traditional pin that marks a major milestone on their journey into the healthcare field.
The energy in the room was undeniable—families clutching bouquets and phones, students in uniforms glowing with pride, and faculty members beaming as they watched their students cross into the next chapter of their careers.

Stories of Struggle, Growth, and Triumph
Several student-speakers shared personal reflections that captured the emotional arc of their academic journeys. Their stories touched on moments of self-doubt, anxiety, and exhaustion—but also humor, friendship, resilience, and eventual triumph.
One common theme echoed through their speeches: gratitude. Students thanked their instructors for being ever-present guides—quick to respond to emails, always available during office hours, and consistently offering encouragement as students worked to balance classes with jobs, families, and busy lives.
A Badge of Honor With Centuries of Meaning
Dr. Krista Wolfe addressed the graduates with a powerful reminder of the significance behind the pin they received. Tracing its roots back to the 12th century—through the Crusades and even the legacy of Florence Nightingale—the pin stands as a symbol of service, dedication, and honor.
“In health care, no day will be the same,” Dr. Wolfe noted. “And just when you thought you’d seen it all…,” she added with a knowing smile, celebrating the persistence and adaptability required of every healthcare professional.

The ceremony featured exceptional speakers representing several of Central Penn’s health programs:
